Softball Game Preview: Franklin Heights Falcons vs. Bishop Ready Silver Knights

The Franklin Heights Falcons will challenge the Bishop Ready Silver Knights at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Franklin Heights has given up an average of 16.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Having struggled with ten losses in a row, Franklin Heights turned things around against Harvest Prep on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 27-17 margin over the Warriors. The Falcons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Franklin Heights let Kelsey Lehman and Brianna Flores-Perez run wild. Lehman scored five runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Flores-Perez went 3-for-4 with eight stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. With that strong performance, Lehman is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Cornell, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3.

Franklin Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .745. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Bishop Ready didn't have quite enough to beat St. Francis DeSales on Wednesday and fell 6-5. The Silver Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Olyvia Piper was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Natalie Wohrle was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Franklin Heights' win bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Bishop Ready, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
