Baseball Recap: Westfield's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Westfield dropped their record down to 15-5 on Saturday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Union Catholic Vikings by a score of 7-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-5 back in April.

As for Union Catholic, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.

For Union Catholic's part, Chris Wilson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian McCabe, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Westfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Union Catholic has already played their next game (against Metuchen), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
