Basketball Recap: Swink Takes a Loss

Swink won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 73-28 loss at the hands of the Crowley County Chargers. Having soared to a lofty 56 points in the game before, the Lions couldn't push the score so high this time.

Swink's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Nate Cabrera, who posted four points and five steals, and Nick Paolucci, who put up six points along with seven boards and three blocks. Cabrera has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played.

Swink has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Crowley County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Swink Lions challenge the Holly Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Holly is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season. As for Crowley County, they will head out on the road to square off against Las Animas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crowley County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Las Animas likes a good challenge.
