Basketball Recap: Stonewall Jackson Comes Up Short

Stonewall Jackson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 40th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through an 84-21 loss at the hands of the Clarke County Eagles. The Generals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Clarke County was led to victory by Paige Mckavish and Alainah Mckavish. Paige went 10-for-16 on her way to 21 points along with seven steals and five assists, while Alainah went 10-for-18 en route to 21 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Alainah has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Paige Stemberger, who posted ten points and five steals.

Stonewall Jackson's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Clarke County, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

Stonewall Jackson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 39-24 defeat against Madison County on the 4th. As for Clarke County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-17 victory against Page County on the 4th.
