Softball Recap: Pine Prairie Snags 15th Victory in Last 16 Games

Pine Prairie owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They blew past the Crowley Gent 6-0. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Kynnedi Ware made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Josie Vidrine was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Sydney Fontenot, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Pine Prairie has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Crowley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.

Coincidentally, Pine Prairie and Crowley will both be playing Church Point the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Gent will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
