Basketball Recap: Buford Takes a Loss

After flying high against York Prep last Thursday, Buford came back down to earth. The Buford Yellow Jackets had to suffer through a 53-17 loss at the hands of the Chesterfield Golden Rams. The Yellow Jackets haven't had much luck with the Golden Rams recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Leading Chesterfield to victory were Reagan Rivers and Terrahjah Robinson. Rivers almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds, while Robinson posted 19 points and six boards. With that strong performance, Rivers is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Temia Chapman, who had ten points and three steals.

Buford's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Chesterfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.

Buford has already played their next contest (against North Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Chesterfield will face off against Andrew Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Andrew Jackson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matches -- so hopefully Chesterfield likes a good challenge.
