Volleyball Game Preview: Deseret Peak Golden Eagles vs. Tooele Buffaloes

The Deseret Peak Golden Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Tooele Buffaloes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Deseret Peak will be strutting in after a win while Tooele will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Deseret Peak turned things around against Stansbury on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Stallions.

The win didn't come easy: Stansbury scored at least 21 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 16-25, 25-21.

Amelia Cannon and Camaira Sacre were among the main playmakers for Deseret Peak as the former had 14 digs and two aces and the latter had 16 digs and five assists. Cannon has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Meanwhile, Tooele was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stansbury.

The final score came out to 25-15, 26-28, 25-22, 25-20.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-19. As for Tooele, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-21.

Everything went Deseret Peak's way against Tooele in their previous meeting back in September, as Deseret Peak made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
