Baseball Game Preview: West Jefferson Roughriders vs. Madison Plains Golden Eagles

West Jefferson is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Madison Plains is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Roughriders will host the Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

West Jefferson's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Fairbanks.

Meanwhile, Madison Plains won against Southeastern Local on Monday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles blew past the Trojans 10-0.

The team relied heavily on Ben Rolfe, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Rhoads, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Madison Plains' victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for West Jefferson, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.

West Jefferson took their victory against Madison Plains in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-4 score. Will the Roughriders repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
