Basketball Recap: Kenyan Booker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hunters Lane over Westmoreland

Hunters Lane was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost to the Westmoreland Eagles at home by a 52-37 margin. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in November of 2023.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenyan Booker, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points. Those 12 points gave Booker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amarien Kelly, who posted ten points.

Hunters Lane's record now sits at 1-7. As for Westmoreland, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hunters Lane will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hume-Fogg at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Westmoreland will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Macon County at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
