Basketball Recap: North Decatur Has No Trouble Against Hauser

North Decatur won the last time they faced Hauser and things went their way on Saturday too. The North Decatur Chargers were the clear victor by a 45-23 margin over the Hauser Jets. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Jets are ranked 275th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Madi Allen was her usual excellent self, going 8 of 17 on her way to 25 points along with seven boards and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Clare Kinker, who posted three points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

North Decatur was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hauser only racked up five assists.

When it comes to explaining why Hauser lost, don't look at Braelyn Williams. Despite the final result, she put up seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Norah Berkenstock, who had eight points.

North Decatur has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Hauser, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

North Decatur will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Edinburgh at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th. Hauser will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Trinity Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th.
