Softball Recap: Delaware Valley Comes Up Short

Delaware Valley managed to slip by Scranton Prep the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Warriors lost 8-2 to the Cavaliers on Friday. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cavaliers earlier this season, when they won 11-9.

Delaware Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Bird, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Jordan Dickerson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Delaware Valley and nudges their season record down to 8-5. As for Scranton Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.

Delaware Valley will take on West Scranton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Scranton Prep, they will face off against North Pocono at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cavaliers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season.
