Softball Recap: Ridgemont Takes a Loss

If Ridgemont was riding high fresh off their 13-7 takedown of Arlington on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golden Gophers came up short against the North Baltimore Tigers on Monday, falling 15-5. The Golden Gophers have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Brilynn Rudasill was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Braylyn Caldwell, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Ridgemont's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for North Baltimore, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

Coming up, Ridgemont will head out to challenge Cory-Rawson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.29 runs per game on average), something the Golden Gophers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for North Baltimore, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Allen East at 5:00 p.m. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.82 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
