Baseball Recap: DeLand Takes a Loss

DeLand was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Winter Springs Bears, falling 10-1. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Bears from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

DeLand's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Winter Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

DeLand will welcome Spruce Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spruce Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Winter Springs, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lyman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Lyman: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Winter Springs has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
