Basketball Preview: Jones Christian Academy Warrior vs. Central Christian Saints
Jones Christian Academy is 8-2 against the Saints since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Jones Christian Academy Warrior will head out on the road to square off against the Central Christian Saints at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Jones Christian Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 67-49 victory over Full Life Christian Academy.
Meanwhile, Central Christian had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.4 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Full Life Christian Academy as Central Christian made off with a 67-42 victory. Central Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.
Central Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaac Knapp out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarrod Harmon, who scored 21 points along with two steals.
Jones Christian Academy's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Central Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5.
Jones Christian Academy beat the Saints 64-55 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jones Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
