Softball Game Preview: Trenton Central Tornadoes vs. Lawrence Cardinals

Trenton Central hasn't had much luck against Lawrence recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tornadoes will face off against the Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. Trenton Central has given up an average of 18.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Trenton Central is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They came up short against Nottingham, falling 18-4. On the bright side, the four- run performance marked the Tornadoes' highest-scoring game to date.

Meanwhile, Lawrence had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Princeton on Thursday, sneaking past 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cardinals have posted against the Tigers since May 8, 2017.

Lawrence now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Trenton Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Trenton Central suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Lawrence in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Tornadoes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
