Basketball Recap: Covenant Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Covenant Christian Academy was the 84-58 winner over Sugar Hill Christian Academy when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Rams fell 83-75 to the Stallions on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (73), the Rams still had to take the loss.

Christopher Britt continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sugar Hill Christian Academy, shooting 64% from the field en route to 22 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The contest was Britt's sixth in a row with at least 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Espin, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards.

Covenant Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Sugar Hill Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Covenant Christian Academy will venture away from home to take on Cherokee Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sugar Hill Christian Academy, they will head out to square off against Killian Hill Christian at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Stallions will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
