Softball Recap: Randolph County Extends Winning Streak to Three

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Randolph County walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wellborn Panthers a 15-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Tigers have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Gracie Robinson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Kinsley Weathers was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gracie Huckeba, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Randolph County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .720. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win was the third in a row for Randolph County, bringing their record up to 17-10. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Wellborn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season.

As of now, neither Randolph County nor Wellborn have any future games scheduled.
