Joliet won against Sweet Grass County last Friday with 20 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The J Hawks skirted past the Huntley Project Red Devils 20-18. The J Hawks' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Joliet to victory, but perhaps none more so than Camden McQuillian, who rushed for 46 yards and one score, and also picked up 38 receiving yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Jake Cook, who rushed for 21 yards and one touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Joliet's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Trystan Knight and Roree Ward, who racked up four sacks between them.
Despite the defeat, Huntley Project saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Blake Ramaeker rushed for 61 yards and one TD, and also threw for 128 yards and one touchdown.
Joliet's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Huntley Project, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
