Basketball Recap: Vienna Piles Up the Points Against New Haven

Vienna won the last time they faced New Haven and things went their way on Monday too. The Vienna Eagles took their matchup with ease, bagging a 59-27 victory over the New Haven Shamrocks. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 24 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vienna to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jude Stricklan, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 13 points and six steals. Those six steals gave Stricklan a new career-high. Alex Zimmer was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.

The win (which was Vienna's third in a row) raised their record to 6-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for New Haven, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Vienna didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-41 victory against Jamestown on the 15th. As for New Haven, they will take on Missouri Military Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
