Avoca-Prattsburgh falls despite strong effort from Macoy Putnam

Recap: Avoca-Prattsburgh Titans vs. Canisteo-Greenwood Chargers

After flying high against the Hammondsport Lakers last Tuesday, the Avoca-Prattsburgh Titans came back down to earth. Avoca-Prattsburgh was the victim of a tough 64-43 loss at the hands of Canisteo-Greenwood on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Avoca-Prattsburgh has scored all season.

Despite the loss, Avoca-Prattsburgh still got an impressive performance from Macoy Putnam, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Putnam is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Abbott, who scored eight points along with three steals.

Avoca-Prattsburgh's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Canisteo-Greenwood, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

Avoca-Prattsburgh will head out on the road to face off against Campbell-Savona at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Campbell-Savona is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home. Canisteo-Greenwood will take on Arkport Central at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
