Basketball Recap: Glenn Hills Comes Up Short

Glenn Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 33rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 66-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the Midland Valley Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 481st in Georgia, while the Mustangs are ranked 86th in South Carolina).

Glenn Hills' loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Midland Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glenn Hills will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Burke County at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Midland Valley and Evans will round out the year against one another at at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Midland Valley has lost three straight at home , while Evans has lost four on the road.
