Basketball Recap: North East Carolina Prep Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

North East Carolina Prep extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Chadwick Barnes. The North East Carolina Prep Husky came out on top in a nail-biter against the Southside Seahawks on Wednesday, sneaking past 73-71 thanks in part to Barnes, who dropped a double-double on 37 points and 23 boards. Barnes is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least 11 every time he's taken the court this season.

Southside lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Zy'Mire Burgess, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Josh Armstrong, who had nine points and eight rebounds.

North East Carolina Prep's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. As for Southside, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

North East Carolina Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-43 loss against Martin County on the 10th. As for Southside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 45-37 victory against Mattamuskeet on the 9th.
