Baseball Game Preview: Point Loma Pointers vs. Cathedral Catholic Dons + How To Watch

For the second straight game, Point Loma will face off against Cathedral Catholic. The Pointers will be playing at home against the Dons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Point Loma is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Cathedral Catholic just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Dons by a score of 6-5.

For Cathedral Catholic's part, they gave Nick Ruder the start and clearly made the right call: he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ruder has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alex Harrington, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Trey Kotsay was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Cathedral Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season. As for Point Loma, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7-1.
