Volleyball Recap: Trico Pioneers vs. Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes

Trico had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Pioneers as they're now sitting on four straight.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Trico took both sets by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-14.

Whitney Lovel paced Trico's offense, picking up seven kills. Lovel got some help from Olivia Thies and her eight assists. Hayleigh Franklin and Allie Robinson kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Trico pushed their record up to 32-3 with the victory, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Zeigler-Royalton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which is still a better percentage than their 8-25 record this season.

Trico wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Cobden on the 31st. Zeigler-Royalton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
