Baseball Recap: Grant Comes Up Short

Grant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Monroe Vikings, falling 9-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Fernando Padilla and Dominic Sanchez did some serious damage despite the final result: Padilla got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI, while Sanchez went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Arellano, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Grant's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Monroe, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

While Grant had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
