Basketball Recap: Cape Henlopen Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

Cape Henlopen entered their tilt with Sussex Central on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Sussex Central Golden Knights 61-20. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-13.

Leading Cape Henlopen to victory were Havyn Greene and Amalia Fruchtman. Greene dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards, while Fruchtman went 8 for 18 en route to 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals. With that strong performance, Greene is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Faith Re, who posted 14 points and seven rebounds.

Cape Henlopen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games.

Cape Henlopen pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Sussex Central, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
