Flag Football Recap: Naperville Central Triumphs

The Naperville Central Redhawks didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Joliet West Tigers on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 24-18 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redhawks.

Lyla Hope threw for 270 yards and four touchdowns. Malia Shen was her top target, picking up 111 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Nicole Smith rushed for 38 yards.

Despite the loss, Joliet West still got an impressive performance from Londyn Clemons, who rushed for 179 yards and three TDs while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Clemons' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked her fourth straight game with at least 155 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Ella Featherston, who rushed for 98 yards on only eight carries.

Naperville Central's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Joliet West, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5.

Naperville Central has already played their next contest, a 39-0 victory against Andrew on the 2nd. As for Joliet West, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 46-0 win against Joliet Central on the 2nd.
