Preview: Brock Eagles vs. Clyde Bulldogs
Two dominant signal callers in Brody Woods and Blake Carr are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Brock Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Clyde Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Brock comes in on eight and Clyde on three.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Brock walked away with it. They breezed by Muleshoe on the road to the tune of 76-13. Brock might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven games by 57 points or more this season.
Woods was his usual excellent self, throwing for 156 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. Hyatt Dunaway got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Clyde didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Shallowater on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 26-21 win.
It was another big night for Carr, who rushed for 212 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 208 yards and two touchdowns. Carr really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run. Fabian Gomez was another key contributor, gaining 143 total yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Brock to 9-3 and Clyde to 11-1.
Everything went Brock's way against Clyde in their previous meeting back in November of 2019 as Brock made off with a 24-0 win. Will Brock repeat their success, or does Clyde have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
