Basketball Recap: Hopkinton Takes a Loss

Hopkinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 61-49 to the Kearsarge Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Hampshire basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Cougars are ranked fourth).

Hopkinton now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Kearsarge, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hopkinton has already played their next match (against St. Thomas Aquinas), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Kearsarge will look to defend their home court on Friday against Monadnock at 5:00 p.m.
