Softball Game Preview: Daniel Lions vs. Liberty Red Devils

The Daniel Lions will take on the Liberty Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Daniel is looking for their season's first victory.

Daniel saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They lost 15-5 to Powdersville.

Lucy Maxon was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-2. Those home runs marked the first that she has launched this season. Caroline Brownlee was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Liberty not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 17, 2025 (when they won 21-8). Everything went their way against Ware Shoals as they made off with an 11-1 win. The Red Devils have beaten the Hornets the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Hornets has come to flipping the script.

Daniel's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Everything went Daniel's way against Liberty in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, as Daniel made off with a 19-6 win. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
