Softball Recap: Fremont Wins Going Away Against Wabash

Fremont won the last time they faced Wabash and things went their way on Saturday too. The Eagles put the hurt on the Apaches with a sharp 13-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Emma Creager was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Creager was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chloe Verdin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Myleigh Carper, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Fremont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wabash only posted an OBP of .290.

Fremont now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Wabash, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Fremont didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-5 victory against Central Noble on the 15th. As for Wabash, they have also already played their next game, a 6-4 loss against Blackford on the 14th.
