Basketball Recap: Make It Nine in a Row for Powers Catholic

Powers Catholic extended their winning streak to nine games thanks to a huge performance from Jesse Cull. The Powers Catholic Chargers walked away with a 79-68 win over the Mt. Pleasant Oilers on Tuesday thanks in part to Cull, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 16.8 points per game.

Another player making a difference was Andrew Caldwell, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points and five assists. His evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Powers Catholic's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for Mt. Pleasant, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Powers Catholic will head out to face off against Dow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Powers Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will venture away from home to take on Garber at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
