Softball Recap: Union City Comes Up Short

Union City and Sharpsville squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Union City had to settle for second. They came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 11-1. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Union City saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alissa Leech, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Union City's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Sharpsville, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Union City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sharpsville, they have already played their next match, a 9-7 win against Wilmington on the 23rd.
