Luray won the last time they faced Madison County, and Matthew Owens did his part to make sure it happened again. The Luray Bulldogs walked away with a 61-48 victory over the Madison County Mountaineers on Tuesday thanks in part to Owens, who went 9 for 12 to rack up 29 points and five rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 41.1% three-point shooting accuracy.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jae Frye, who posted two points along with six boards and three blocks. That's the most blocks he has posted since back in January of 2024.

Isaiah Jones and Lahman Carpenter certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Jones went 6 of 14 en route to 16 points and five rebounds, while Carpenter went 7 for 11 on his way to 16 points and three blocks. Carpenter is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last seven games he's played. Isaiah Humphrey was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Luray is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Madison County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

Coincidentally, Luray and Madison County will both be playing Strasburg the next time they take the court. Luray will host Strasburg at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Madison County will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
