Softball Recap: Bell Comes Up Short

Bell came into this matchup off a tough 11-run loss on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Wakeland Wolverines by a score of 8-6 on Friday. The Blue Raiders just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Sydney Hatcher was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Presley Rivers, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Bell's loss dropped their record down to 3-6-1. As for Wakeland, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3-1 record this season.

Bell will be taking part in a tournament against South Grand Prairie at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Wakeland, they are taking a road trip to take on College Station at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Wolverines' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
