Volleyball Recap: John Curtis Christian Patriots vs. Newman Greenies        
        
		
             John Curtis Christian had won two straight  games  and  Mikaela Duncan did her part to make it three on Saturday. The John Curtis Christian Patriots came out on top against the Newman Greenies by a score of  2-0  thanks in part to  Duncan, who  had five  digs and five  aces. Those five  aces gave  her a new career-high.
 John Curtis Christian easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-11,  25-19.
  Makayla Morter paced John Curtis Christian's offense, picking up nine kills. Morter got some help from 
 Alyzia Cola- Grayson and her 17 assists. Duncan controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
 John Curtis Christian is  on a roll lately: they've  won 15 of their last 18 contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 28-7 record  this season. As for Newman,  with the  defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-11.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. John Curtis Christian will play host again  on Monday to welcome Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy, where the match is scheduled  at 4:30  p.m. As for Newman, they will take on Dutchtown at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
