They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 24-21 victory over the South Pike Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Chiefs have posted since December 5, 2023.
Tylertown got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Markeriah Youngblood out in front who posted eight points. Shaniece Hunt was another key player, putting up eight points.
The win made it two in a row for Tylertown and bumps their season record up to 13-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.5 points over those games. As for South Pike, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.
Looking ahead, Tylertown will square off against Jefferson Davis County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jefferson Davis County will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Tylertown surely won't give up without a fight. South Pike does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
