Recap: Loomis Wolves vs. Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons
The Loomis Wolves lost against the Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Loomis took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wilcox-Hildreth.
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zeigh Booe, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Booe is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Wiese, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Wilcox-Hildreth got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cara Bunger out in front who scored 11 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. Bunger has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Bunger, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.
Loomis' loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Wilcox-Hildreth, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Loomis won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Dundy County-Stratton at 3:00 p.m. on January 13th. Dundy County-Stratton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Wilcox-Hildreth won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Ansley/Litchfield at 3:00 p.m. on January 13th. Ansley/Litchfield is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
