Basketball Recap: Woodstown Wolverines vs. Bridgeton Bulldogs

Woodstown was the 66-47 winner over Bridgeton when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Woodstown Wolverines fell 63-51 to the Bridgeton Bulldogs on Saturday.

Jameell Purnell was his usual excellent self, shooting 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 34 points and 14 rebounds for Bridgeton. Purnell's morning made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tavon Chandler, who went 6 for 14 en route to 16 points and five boards.

Woodstown's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Bridgeton, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-12.

Woodstown will venture away from home to challenge Pennsville Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bridgeton, they will host Atlantic City at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
