Basketball Recap: Blue Valley West's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

The third road game was the charm for Blue Valley West, as they earned their first road win of the season. They walked away with a 47-36 victory over the Wyandotte Bulldogs on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Jaguars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Wyandotte's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaida Johnson, who posted eight points and 13 rebounds. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaylynn Hunt, who had nine points.

Blue Valley West's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. As for Wyandotte, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blue Valley West will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against St. James Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th. As for Wyandotte, they will face off against Harmon at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Harmon and three for Wyandotte.
