Basketball Recap: Uvalde Comes Up Short

Uvalde made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Carrizo Springs, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 63-61 on Tuesday. The Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Carrizo Springs can attribute much of their success to Deaken Ibarra, who posted 12 points. Those 12 points gave Ibarra a new career-high. Gion Rangel was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Uvalde's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Carrizo Springs, they moved to 5-13 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Coincidentally, Uvalde and Carrizo Springs will both be playing Pleasanton the next time they take the court. The Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) will host the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will host them at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
