Basketball Game Preview: Eastern Randolph Wildcats vs. Cary Academy Chargers + How To Watch

The Eastern Randolph Wildcats will face off against the Cary Academy Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

After dropping their season opener at home, Cary Academy is headed out to face a Wildcats team ready to give their home crowd a win. Eastern Randolph lost 54-34 to Southern Lee on Monday. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Wildcats struggled afterwards.

The losing side was boosted by Callie Craven, who posted 14 points.

Meanwhile, Cary Academy put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Charlotte Country Day School, posting a 61-27 victory. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 29 points or more this season.

Eastern Randolph better focus on containing Avni Lutz and Gabrielle Young as the pair were huge in Cary Academy's win. Lutz shot 53% from the field to rack up 24 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Young put up 23 points and eight boards. The game was Young's 13th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Annalise Dematteis, who scored four points in addition to seven assists and four steals.

Eastern Randolph ended up a good deal behind Cary Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2024, losing 53-39. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Young, who went 11-for-18 on her way to 26 points and five rebounds.
