Baseball Recap: Maywood Academy Nighthawks vs. Marquez Gladiators

Maywood Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 15-1 to the Marquez Gladiators. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Maywood Academy of the 16-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture last Monday.

For Marquez's part, William Morales made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Morales was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Marquez let Robert Cerna and Derek Vazquez loose on the outfield.
