Basketball Recap: Monroe County's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Monroe County lost to Flomaton back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Monroe County Tigers secured a 48-42 W over the Flomaton Hurricanes. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Despite the loss, Flomaton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jacie Himes posted 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Smith, who earned eight points.

Monroe County's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14. As for Flomaton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Monroe County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Southern Choctaw at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Flomaton, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Hillcrest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
