They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (2-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The match marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

Victoria Payne spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on eight hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in six consecutive pitching appearances.

Even though they lost, Wellington didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with 11 strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jupiter only tossed five.

On Jupiter's side, the result came thanks to Sasha Seidel's shutout, as she gave up just three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sam Basen, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Wellington's defeat dropped their record down to 20-4. As for Jupiter, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7.

Wellington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jupiter, they are on the road again on Friday to play Centennial at 7:00 p.m. The pair have allowed few runs on average, (Jupiter: 3, Centennial: 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
