Softball Game Preview: Woodridge Bulldogs vs. Streetsboro Rockets

The Woodridge Bulldogs will face off against the Streetsboro Rockets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Woodridge will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Having struggled with nine defeats in a row, Woodridge turned things around against Coventry on Thursday. They blew past the Comets 12-3. The Bulldogs not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27th (when they won 11-1).

Olivia Wagner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Sadie Honeck was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaiana Tucker, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Streetsboro, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Norton 9-7.

The team relied heavily on Khloe Cutright, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Hailey Miller was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Streetsboro is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Woodridge, their win bumped their record up to 4-15.
