Volleyball Recap: Madison Rigg Key Part of Team Effort in Eagles Win

If Urbana University wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played DeLand-Weldon, they should've done a better job of containing Addison Roos. The Eagles walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Illineks on Thursday for which the team can thank Roos, who had five digs and two aces. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played.

DeLand-Weldon easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-14.

DeLand-Weldon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madison Rigg led the charge by getting five kills and four aces. That's the most kills Rigg has posted over her last nine matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Elli Hayward, who had seven kills and three digs.

DeLand-Weldon's record is now 8-13. As for Urbana University, they are on a 34-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-19.
