 The Dixie Heights Colonels will head out on the road to  challenge  the Bracken County Polar Bears at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Both teams come into the  game bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 Having struggled with six  losses in a row, Dixie Heights finally turned things around against Notre Dame Academy  on Tuesday. Dixie Heights had just enough and edged Notre Dame Academy out  5-4.
  Riley Hopkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and three unearned) runs on six hits.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Skylar Mitchell, who  scored three  runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Taylor Ingram, who  went 4-for-4 with two  RBI and a  double.
 Meanwhile, Bracken County came tearing into  Tuesday's  matchup with five straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.6 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Panthers by the very same score they won with in their prior game:  17-0. Considering Bracken County has won ten matches by more than six  runs this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Dixie Heights' record now sits at 4-8. As for Bracken County, their win was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 12-4.
