Baseball Recap: Tri-County RVT Find Success

While Tri-County RVT's win against Westport wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 8-7 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Colton Darling made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Darling was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Dylan Maw was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gavin Sullivan, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Tri-County RVT's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Westport, they moved to 8-12 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Tri-County RVT will face off against Southeastern RVT at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westport, they will square off against Winchester at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red & Black's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
