Softball Recap: D'Arbonne Woods Victorious

D'Arbonne Woods hadn't done well against Haughton recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. D'Arbonne Woods came out on top against the Haughton Buccaneers by a score of 11-6. For D'Arbonne Woods, this counts as revenge for the 5-2 win Haughton walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Aubrey Zachary tossed a big game, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Joley Bennett was a standout: she scored three runs while going 1-for-3. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lylah Jones (Lylah), who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

The victory made it two in a row for D'Arbonne Woods and bumps their season record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Haughton, their record now sits at 3-6.

Coming up, D'Arbonne Woods will be playing in front of their home fans against Benton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Haughton, they are taking a road trip to square off against Pineville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
